USSD – Unstructured Supplementary Service Data, is a service that allows mobile phone users to access remote application from their device in real-time. It is a highly scalable service that does not require an internet connection and is supported by both features and smartphones.


• Gelsacco Mobile Loans can only be accessed by a registered members by dialing *250*20#.

• Member can only qualify 80% of Available Savings Amount


• The savings account earns interest rebates and dividends annually.

• Access loans at a lower interest rates.

• Access to Emergency Loan that is applied via USSD and disbursed Automatically to M-Pesa.


• Visit www.gelsacco.co.ke

• Click on Join Sacco.

• Fill the Online form and attach the required files.

• Submit your Application.

• Pay Kes 1,000 Registration Fee and make subsequent Monthly savings.

• Must have been a GELSACCO Member for atleast six(6) months.

• Must have been making Savings consistently.

• Must Fulfill all specific Loan Product requirements.

• Click on forgot password link.

• Choose your user type.

• Provide ID Number.

• Click on Resset Button.

• Resset Code will be sent to your Phone/email.

• Use the code as old password and input the new Password.

• Proceed to Login with the new Password.

• Savings/Deposits are refundable while Share Capital is nonrefundable but transferrable to a nominee or another member.

• Share capital earn dividends whereas savings/deposits earn interest.

• Member is not allowed to borrow against share capital as Shares are never used as a loan security while deposits can be used as loan security.

• Share capital is the equity or core capital of the Sacco and represents each member’s share of ownership of the Society in terms of shares.The minimum share capital for each member is Kshs. 20,000 which earns dividends for the member. This share capital is non withdrawable but transgferable upon termination of membership.

• Interest is computed based on weighted average method. The interest payable to the member is dependent on the income the society makes as at the end of every financial year.

• A member may at any time withdraw from the society by giving 60 days’ written notice to the society. Members who voluntarily withdraw may re-apply for admission as long as they still qualify for membership under the terms of the society’s bylaws.
